Arcturus is the bear guardian and bellwether of spring. She guards the constellation of Ursa Major, of which the Big Dipper is apart of. Ursa Major created Arcturus, the planet, to honor her defender in the biggest way she knows how to.

Each room users go into are different places Ursa Major has traveled under Arcturus’s protection, and she has created every part of them due to experiences she has faced on the planet.

In creating the planet, she has achieved a form of symbiosis; mutualism. Mutualism is a symbiotic relationship where both organisms benefit from the situation. In this case, Arcturus is honored by the inhabitants and Ursa Major, and Ursa Major and the inhabitants are, in return, protected by Arcturus.

On a planet light years away from earth, constellations live and breathe as inhabitants of a fragile ecosystem. They guide and protect the sacred ground and it’s inhabitants, keeping the peace. The planet is full of extraordinary forms of life, from the smallest bug, to the largest wyvern, all living in harmony and balance, fulfilling all the necessary roles in their respective ecosystems. This planet is named Arcturus, after the 4th brightest star in the sky.

Arcturus herself is a star, an orange giant to be specific, known as the bear guardian and bellwether of spring. She lives 40 lightyears away from our planet, Earth. Being 25 times larger than the sun, she is a magnificent, ancient being that takes the form of the largest bear species, the kodiak. She took this form for many reasons, the main being kodiaks are willing to protect their own with their lives, but they are also intelligent enough to know when to live peacefully with other members of their own species. In fact, when food is plenty, they don’t fight at all unless provoked by one another. Her protective nature goes towards one constellation specifically; Ursa Major. Protecting Ursa Major has always been one of her main tasks, as she travels with Ursa Major around the sky, watching over her and protecting her from any harm that may come her way.

Grateful for her guardian, Ursa Major took it upon the grueling task of forming a planet named after her. Arcturus’s different biomes and climates are all bound together by one common theme: places where Arcturus, the guardian, has stood by Ursa Major in troubling times and aided her in the process. She formed every small aspect of the planet, from the tallest mountain to the smallest blade of grass, all for her guardian. She protects the life here, just as Arcturus has always protect her. As Arcturus protects Ursa Major, she also watches over the planet with her, as the planet itself is a piece of Ursa Major.
